Ken Hogan Memorial Open

A tournament in its 19th Year of Remembering and Honoring James Kenneth Hogan (October 18, 1940--June 7, 1988).

Ken worked with fencers of the South Texas Division for many years, spending some forty years in the sport. He had been a focal point for fencing in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas with a strong club at the Marine Military Academy (Harlingen, Texas) and had epee finalists at several Junior Olympic Championships in the early and mid-1980's. He was also a member of the Gulf Coast Division for years and a member of Salle Sabastiani before coming to the South Texas Division. He fenced his last competition some two months before his death at Jowers Gym, SWTSU (now Texas State University).
