Fencing for James Ortiz: A benefit tournament on 24 June at Texas State University. Info HERE
All proceeds go to James Ortiz. Our fellow TX State student was seriously injured in a bicycling accident last Monday. Ortiz is a Senior double majoring in Special Education and Exercise and Sports Science, and a star member of the track team. Medical bills are high and all sports clubs are fundraising to help the Ortiz family.
Also, the Games of Texas are 29-30 July in Round Rock. You can find out more HERE

Changes to Qualifying Path

Thank you to everyone for a good Divisionals! The list of qualifiers is HERE.
Please note that USFA made a change to the qualifying paths on Monday, the 3rd. They have told us that it is retroactive. If your qualifying form does not match this list, please email Deana at secretary@southtexasdivision.org for an explanation. The updated version of the qualifying paths is available HERE.
You can find the updated Summer Nationals schedule HERE and the individual entry form is HERE.
The Tournament Guidelines and new Referee Compensation have been posted in the Info section of the site.
For your reference, the 2006 list of eligible voters for South Texas have been posted HERE as well as a copy of the Southwest Section proxy form HERE.
The minutes of the membership meeting will be posted within the next few weeks in the Info section. Congratulations to this coming year's officers.
Proxy Forms and Voting '06

Proxy forms for the Divisional Meeting can be found HERE. Please note that to be a voting member, you must have joined before February 1st, 2006. Any proxy forms must be turned into the Division Secretary by 1pm on Saturday, April 1st.

South Texas Divisional 2-3 Qualifiers have been posted for pre-registration on FRED.
The Annual Division Meeting will be held after the last event on Saturday. Announced candidates for offices:

DON'T FORGET! THE POUJ IS THIS WEEKEND...
There will be an open election for USFA Congress reps on Saturday, at the Pouj, to fill the remaining 4 spots allotted to our division. The election will take place no earlier than noon, during a break in the tournament.
Announced candidates include Wendell Kubik and Gary Murray. Currently, our reps are Ines Walker, Christina Howell, and Deana Everett.

Friday evening will include the basic class and written exam.
Practical exams (for those who pass the written exam) will be at the Cat Fight Open Tournament on 5-6 Nov 2005, the following Saturday and Sunday.

The bid for J.O. Qualifiers has been closed. They will be on 3-4 Dec 2005 in the main gym at Palo Alto College, San Antonio. Details to follow shortly.

Don't forget to pre-register for JO Quals on FRED. The waiver file is posted in the forms section.
For all future Division tournaments, this waiver will be required of ALL fencers, regardless of age.
Please note: Due to an oversight on the webmaster's part, division results from the past month have only been posted on FRED. That situation will be remedied in the next two days.

The Miles Keogh Memorial Youth Tournament has been CANCELLED. It will be rescheduled for sometime in the future, perhaps 2005 or more likely, 2006.
